There’s a breath of fresh air at the summit of the U.K. albums chart as Inhaler’s debut album slots in at No. 1.
Inhaler’s It Won’t Always Be Like This (Polydor) opens at the top of the Official U.K. Albums Chart, making the Dublin rock outfit just the third Irish act to top the survey this decade, and the first since The Script’s self-titled debut from 2008.
Inhaler’s first week ends with 18,000 chart sales, according to the OCC, with 92% of that sum generated by physical sales. It’s the week’s best-selling vinyl, and, according to the charts compiler, the fastest-selling debut album on vinyl of any band this century.
Also new to the chart this week is Tom Odell’s fourth set Monsters (Columbia), arriving at No. 4, while Muse’s 2001 album Origin Of Symmetry (EastWest/Taste) returns to the chart at No. 6 following a 20th anniversary reissue.
Over on the Official U.K Singles Chart, Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” (Asylum) bags a third week at No. 1.
“Bad Habits” is gathering pace, as it posts 101,000 chart sales for its third consecutive week, including 11.1 million streams.
The highest new entry belongs to London rappers Dave and Stormzy, as their collaboration “Clash” (Dave Neighbourhood) bows at No. 3, for Dave’s eighth and Stormzy’s 12th U.K. Top 10 single.
And finally, Aussie singer and rapper The Kid Laroi enjoys his second U.K. Top 10 with “Stay” (Columbia), his latest collab with Justin Bieber. It’s new at No. 5, for Bieber’s 27th Top 10.
