A year after the coronavirus pandemic put the world on pause, the Olympics are finally heading to Tokyo!

NBCUniversal is airing the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games programming across its broadcast, cable and digital platforms, and we have all the details on how to tune into the big event. Keep in mind that Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of the United States’ Eastern time and 16 hours ahead of Pacific time, so many events will be held early in the morning for U.S. viewers.

When are the 2021 Tokyo Olympics?

The 2021 Tokyo Olympics will take place from Friday, July 23 to Sunday, August 8, in Tokyo, Japan.

However, some soccer and softball matchups are airing beginning on Tuesday, July 20.

How to watch the 2021 Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony will be Friday, July 23, starting at 7 a.m. ET/4 a.m. PT. The Olympics Opening Ceremony will air live on NBC at 6:55 a.m. ET, but will re-air for those wanting to sleep in at 7:30 p.m. ET.
