The Sydney-raised singer and rapper is a force on both main charts this week as his evolving mixtape F*ck Love lifts 9-3 on the heels of a new deluxe release, F*ck Love (Over You).
“Stay” is one of four tracks from F*ck Love making an impression on the Top 50 this week, as “Not Sober” (No. 8), “Still Chose You” featuring Mustard (No. 26) and “Over You” (No. 44) all make debuts.
The highest new entry this week belongs to Lil Nas X, whose “Industry Baby” (Sony) featuring Jack Harlow, bows at No. 6. It’s Lil Nas X’s third Top Ten appearance in Australia, and the first single to chart from his forthcoming album Montero, following “Holiday” (which peaked at No. 42) and former leader “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.
Over on the ARIA Albums Chart, The Jungle Giants swing in to top spot with Love Signs (Amplifire/Orchard), for the Brisbane indie pop-rock outfit’s first No. 1.
Frontman Sam Hales says it’s a “childhood dream come true.” He continues, “we set the goal to be completely independent in order to make albums we wanna make. It’s incredible to be sitting here today knowing that our record Love Signs just went No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.”
Love Signs is the 11th homegrown No. 1 this year and it’s the best-selling vinyl this week.
“It’s a fantastic achievement for the band, who are also celebrating their tenth anniversary this year,” comments ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd.
Love Signs is the followup to Quiet Ferocity, which peaked at No. 11 in 2017.
Finally, British rapper Dave makes his ARIA Top 50 debut with We’re All Alone In This Together (Virgin Music Australia/Universal), his sophomore album. It’s new at No. 5. Dave also makes his debut ARIA Singles Chart appearance with “Clash,” the Stormzy-assisted track that impacts at No. 29.
We’re All Alone In This Together is the followup to Psychodrama, which ruled the Official U.K. Chart and won the Brit Award for album of the year. By the weekend, Dave should have a second U.K. No. 1. On the midweek U.K. chart blast , We’re All Alone In This Together had generated more sales and streams then the rest of the top 5 combined.
