As major festivals kick back into gear — with Rolling Loud Miami a week-plus ago and Lollapalooza this past weekend — many of us are wondering: What is it like to return to a crowded music festival after a year and a half away?
On the latest Billboard Pop Shop Podcast, we invite back Pop Shop co-founder Jason Lipshutz, who just returned from his trip to Chicago for the final two days of Lolla. So what is it like back among the festival throngs? Jason tells us about the many COVID-19 protocols at the Grant Park fest (including required vaccination cards or recent negative tests from all concertgoers) and his comfort level throughout the weekend. And of course we also talk about the live music he got to take in, from Post Malone’s “Circles” to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage.”
But the musical highlight of it all? Nu-metal trailblazers Limp Bizkit, who had the crowd moshing all over again to their late ’90s, early 2000s hits. Listen to the latest episode to hear all about it:
Also on the show, we’ve got chart news on how The Kid Laroi’s Fuck Love shoots to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart more than a year after its release and how Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby” debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
