Ed Sheeran to Play Intimate London Show Celebrating 2011 Debut Album

Ed Sheeran will be in a reflective mood next month when he performs his entire 2011 debut album, +, during an intimate Sept. 2 show at London’s 2,000-capacity Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Fans who want to attend can register here for a chance to purchase tickets for the show, with registration closing on Aug. 15 at 11:59 GMT.

Sheeran, who typically plays arenas and stadiums, will scale things down for the gig, his first headlining show since he wrapped his record-breaking Divide tour in August 2019. “While I’ve been lucky enough to continue playing shows across the world, Shepherd’s Bush Empire is still really special to me,” said Sheeran about the underplay gig according to NME.

“When I first set out in music, one of my main goals was to one day headline SBE and my first gig there is still one of my favourite shows that I’ve played,” he added. “I can’t wait to get back and celebrate 10 years of + with you.” Tickets for the gig are $55, plus fees, and fans who successfully register will be able to purchase them beginning at 10 a.m. local time on August 18.

Sheeran also has another milestone to celebrate this month, as his favorite hometown football team, Ipswich Town Football Club in Suffolk, England, will honor him in the best way possible. Sheeran, who grew up loving the team and is sponsoring the men’s and women’s jerseys this season, will get his own jersey and number in the upcoming season.

@edsheeran might be used to being number one, but it’s 17 that is next to his name on Town’s official squad list for the 2021/22 season!” the third-division team announced last week in a tweet that featured Ed wearing his signature #17 shirt.
