Elton John Sings BTS’ ‘Permission to Dance,’ Thanks ARMY: Watch

Elton John, the original Rocket Man, can still achieve lift-off with the right fuel. BTS power works fine.

Elton is namechecked in BTS latest Billboard Hot 100 single “Permission to Dance,” co-written with Ed Sheeran.

The love spread late last week, when BTS bandmember RM shared a snippet of himself lip-syncing to the song, and tagging Elton’s Twitter handle.

The Rock And Roll Hall of Famer responded by laying down his own vocals. “When the nights get colder, And the rhythms got you falling behind,” he sings, before thanking RM and ARMY.

“Permission to Dance” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last month, replacing another BTS song, “Butter.” It’s the K-pop phenomenon’s fifth Hot 100 leader.
