Ana Barbara, Lupita Infante & More Set For BMI’s ‘How I Wrote That Song’ Panel at Latin Music Week 2021

BMI has announced its “How I Wrote That Song” panel set for the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Week, returning to Miami in September with a weeklong event that unites the top Latin hitmakers, influencers, and executives, and features live performances and conversations with superstars.

This year, the panel presented by BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.), moderated by Teresa Romo, creative director of latin, BMI, takes a Regional Mexican turn, featuring icon Ana Bárbara, Pedro Infante’s granddaughter Lupita, and newcomers Adriana Rios and Ivonne Galaz. The four women, who proudly represent regional Mexican, will speak about their challenges, reality, and current state of the industry.

For more than 10 years, the BMI panel has served as a platform for the creators of Latin music to talk about the process of composing, producing, and interpreting their successes. Previous panelists have included Tainy, Luny, Justin Quiles, and many others.

Previously announced panels include “Coming Out Latin” with Raymix, Esteman, Erika Vidrio and Grupo Firme’s Jhonny Caz; “My Cause, My Music: A Conversation on Social Justice” with Yotuel Romero, Kany García and ChocQuibTown members Goyo and Tostao; “Regional No More– Mexican Music Goes Global” with Natanael Cano, Los Dos Carnales and Carin Leon, and moderated by Rancho Humilde’s Jimmy Humilde, amongst many more.

The star-studded 2021 Latin Music Week lineup — headlined by Daddy Yankee, Karol G, and Nicky Jam — also includes participation by Anitta, Chris Jedi, Elena Rose, Gaby Music, Lunay, Myke Towers, Natti Natasha, Nicki Nicole, Rauw Alejandro, Tainy, and Tini, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Under the slogan “The Beat of Latin Music,” making its mark as the longest running and biggest Latin music industry gathering in the world, this year’s event will continue through the end of the week as Billboard launches its En Vivo concert series in partnership with Samsung, Amazon Music, and Bacardí.
