“Real recognize real.” J Balvin posted a commercial for the Air Jordan 3 Medellín Sunset sneaker via Instagram on Monday (Sept. 18).
The promo features Balvin and a group of elderly men discussing soccer and haircuts. “Real recognize real, the J Balvin Sunset collection,” reads the caption.
According to the Nike description, the shoe features a “sky-fading from crimson to the last fiery flame of yellow” while “gradient accents evoke the colors of a Medellín sunset, popping against a coconut milk backdrop and Solar Flare detailing.”
The 38-year-old recording artist sported his Air Jordan Medellín Sunset sneakers during an appearance at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn., over the weekend. Balvin also met up with Michael Jordan at the Nascar event.
“Never stop dreaming and working towards your goals,” he captioned a photo gallery featuring snapshots with Jordan.
Aside from the sneaker collab, Balvin has another partnership that he just announced with Verizon. The “Catch My Phone” augmented reality game, revealed Friday (Sept. 15), features a 300-foot-tall digital Balvin “walking around the country” to the homes of different fans and dropping iPhones. As part of AR experience, fans can learn about the new iPhone, pre-order it and listen to Balvin’s new single “Dientes” featuring Usher and DJ Khaled.
“I’m excited to be teaming up with Verizon to deliver an amazing augmented reality journey that will bring me even closer to my fans like never before,” Balvin said in a news release. “The ‘Catch my iPhone’ experience isn’t just about celebrating the new phone, it’s also your ticket to a sneak peek into my latest music and I can’t wait to share this innovative opportunity with you.”
