Suki Waterhouse presents asepa with the Group of the Year at Billboard Women In Music 2025.
Suki Waterhouse:
Forgive me if I’m a little flustered. There’s just too many beautiful and accomplished women in the building. Okay, so a couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of appearing on the same line up with four talented young women at the Gov Ball in New York. Karina, Giselle, Winter and Ningning. Otherwise known as the K-pop sensation aespa. There’s nothing quite like watching Aespa absolutely own a festival stage. They are just ruling the charts. aespa made history as the first K-pop girl group to land six projects in the top 50 of the Billboard 200. Their lead single, “Whiplash,” gave them their first top ten hit on the Billboard Global 200, landing No. 8 and their tracks “Supernova” and “Armageddon” weren’t far behind. aespa has shown no sign of slowing down, having just wrapped their second world tour, Synk: Parallel Line. And if you didn’t get a chance to see them on tour, you can catch up with them in the metaverse. The group has created an entirely new kind of experience for their fans, with their official alter egos that blur the lines between reality and the digital space. Tonight we celebrate their creativity, their innovation and their absolute domination of the charts. Later, they’ll be performing. But first, let’s take a look at the 2025 Billboard Group of the Year.
