KSI, Ed Sheeran Rule U.K. Charts

KSI can tick off a U.K. No. 1 from his bucket list.

The rapper, songwriter and YouTuber bows at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart with All Over the Place (BMG), his second album.

The LP starts on just over 34,000 combined sales, with more than 54% of the first-week tally coming from physical (CD, vinyl, cassette) sales, the OCC reports. Also, the album’s 16 tracks notch a total of 20.9 million streams across the U.K.

All Over The Place goes one better than KSI’s 2020 debut Dissimulation, which peaked at No. 2.

Also arriving in the Top 10 this week is Pop Smoke latest posthumous album Faith (Republic Records), new at No. 3. The late rapper has the highest new entry on this singles chart this week with Faith track “Deameanor” featuring Dua Lipa, new at No. 14.

Meanwhile, John Mayer’s eighth studio record Sob Rock (Columbia)arrives at No. 4. It’s Mayer’s third U.K. Top 10.

Foo Fighters’ have a 14th Top 40 album with Hail Satin (Columbia), their Record Store Day release recorded under their disco alter-ego, Dee Gees. It’s new at No. 17.

Over on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, Ed Sheeran enters a fourth week at No. 1 “Bad Habits” (Asylum).

Sheeran’s latest hit puts up another impressive tally, with 101,000 chart sales, including 11.4 million streams. That’s more than twice the numbers notched by The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber’s “Stay” (Columbia) which leaps 5-2, a new peak. Sydney-born The Kid Laroi now has two No. 2s on the Official U.K. Chart after “Without You,” which reached the runner-up position in November 2020.

Another Aussie artist climbs the singles survey this week. Tones And I’s “Fly Away” (Parlophone) lifts 26-16 for a new peak in its seventh week on the chart. Its Tones’ second Top 20 appearance after 2019’s “Dance Monkey,” which enjoyed an 11-week reign over the chart.
